The experience of the passing of a client's spouse made me realize that life is unpredictable and how it can change in a split second.
Q.1 Tell us more about yourself?

I graduated from Curtin University of Technology with Bachelor of Commerce in Information Technology. I’ve been working in different types of industries, allowing me to gain various aspects of experiences in terms of time management skills, interpersonal skills, technical skills and analytical skills.

Coming from a family where badminton is a common interest, it does not come as a surprise that badminton is one of my favourite sports apart from basketball. My passion for basketball leads me to join competitions during my high school period and inter-house games during my tenure in Accenture.

All these valuable experiences make me a better person and boost my confidence when handling different challenges in life.

Q.2 Why did you choose this profession?

After I graduated from Curtin University, I’ve been working in IT and banking industries. From these corporate experiences, I realize that my passion is to interact and build long term relationships with the people that I served.

There is one dream that I would like to achieve in life which is to be my own boss. By joining the insurance industry, I realized that I can make my dream become a reality – a place where I have full control of my own activities to achieve my financial freedom, while at the same time maintain my passion for interacting with various kinds of people to provide value and service to their lives.

Q.3 Why Strategic Alliance?

What draws me to Strategic Alliance are the people and the culture. The key component of the team is “We are 1 big Family”. The team culture allows every individual to set and achieve their goals within a fun environment. We work hard and we play hard. We will always do our best in fulfilling our clients’ needs in a professional and ethical manner.

Led by Mr Jamson Chia and also under the guidance of my life mentor Mr Tan Huimin, I believe that I can achieve success in the industry and move forward to achieve my goals.

Q.4 What are your expertise and experience?

I specialize in providing comprehensive financial advice in a professional manner through need-based analysis, while at the same time building long-term relationships with my clients. I wish to gain the trust of all my clients with regards to the professional or personal aspects of their lives, and assisting them in meeting their goals.

Q.5 Share a memorable experience:

This incident occurred recently in September 2014 when one of my client’s spouse passed away due to cancer. Although I was not able to assist them personally, being there for the husband and family during that hard time helped me to understand the pain of losing a loved one. Through this experience, it made me realize that life is unpredictable and how it can change in a split second.
